As any parent knows, when babies are teething, they can experience a lot of pain. Amber necklaces can help soothe teething babies. When wearing an amber necklace, the baby’s body-heat warms the amber, causing it to release a small amount of oil that contains succinic acid. Succinic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body, has anti-inflammatory properties that dulls the pains of teething.
A baby can begin teething around 6 months old, and will not have all 20 primary teeth until around age 3. Any time during this teething range is a good time to wear amber jewelry, though it’s not recommended to let your baby wear a necklace unsupervised or to bed.
Baltic amber is considered the gold-standard of amber. The amber found in this region is over 40 million years old. Here at Powell’s Owls, we source all of our amber from Lithunia, on the shores of the Baltic Sea, to ensure it’s 100% real and genuine.
Duh, it’s 2018.
Simply use a soft cloth dampened with lukewarm water (no soaps or chlorine) and dry well afterwards.
No, amber jewelry is not meant to be chewed on. But don’t despair, your baby can chew it’s heart out on our newly released teething mitten.
