Teething is something that every parent dreads! Not only is it difficult to see your child in pain, but the subsequent crying, frustrating and stress experienced by a teething baby can make the entire household feel tense. Thankfully, teething remedies can do wonders in terms of helping reduce your child’s teething pain while restoring sanity and peace to the household.
If you are looking for home made teething remedies that are safe, then you’ve come to the right place. The following are my favorite home made teething remedies that have helped me deal with my children’s teething pain.
Amber teething necklace:
Yes we are biased but where would I have been without my baby’s amber teething necklace? This unique teething necklace is made with Baltic amber beads; amber helps to reduce inflammation in a baby’s gums, which tackles the source of teething pain right at the root. They are easy to use, too: all you have to do is slip them on your baby’s neck and let them wear the necklace throughout the day. Make sure you take it off at night, but other than that, it’s easy to use and works great. Don't forget when your little one is wearing an amber necklace (as with all jewelry) make sure you supervise them at all times. Each necklace is handcrafted with double knots to prevent breaking and increase safety as safety is always the number one priority.
In addition to amber teething necklaces, amber bracelets for baby is another fantastic all natural option to help soothing and swollen gums. Amber teething bracelets not just look cute but are crafted with the highest quality and safety in mind. Try one today!
Frozen Wash Cloths:
When your baby shows sign of teething, frozen wash clothes is a great old school home made teething remedy, but there is a reason why they haven’t stayed in the past: it really works! Simply freeze a damp wash cloth and let your baby chew on the cloth to help relieve their sore gums. Make sure the cloth isn’t frayed, because you won’t want any fibers getting into your baby’s mouth.

Frozen Bottles With Water:
No, I don’t mean a huge water bottle! For this home made teething remedy, you need to fill up a baby bottle with some clean drinking water. Stick it in the freezer until the water has gone solid, then take it out when your baby is experiencing teething pain and let them gnaw on the frozen bottle nub. You will definitely need to wrap the bottle itself in something warm, because otherwise it will be too cold for your baby to handle.
Manual Gum Massage:
This remedy is definitely a “your mileage may vary” depending on your baby’s temperament and how well it works for them. For this remedy, I simply take my fingers and gently (very gently) start massaging around my baby’s gums. Don’t press hard or directly on the gums, but rather the areas around the gums. Again, some babies won’t like this—so give it a shot and see if it works.
Mom or Dad’s Finger:
Is there anything more home made than simply giving your baby your (clean!) finger to chew on when they’re teething? This remedy is basically a quick-fix while you work on something that works better, such as a frozen wash cloth or ordering an amber teething necklace on the internet. Just wash your finger, make sure to rinse off any soap residue, and let your baby gnaw to their heart’s content.
Teething isn’t fun but you can help your baby feel better by using one or more of these home made teething remedies.
